Chassis:
As the unique Cooper T61P was delivered in pieces, it never received a Cooper chassis plate, as was common practice at the time. It did not need one either, as long as it never left the country. As a result, the ex-Roy Salvadori machine has always been referred to by its engine number, which was 151-010. After its brief contemporary racing career, it passed through the hands of two British enthusiasts before it joined the fabulous collection of German Peter Kaus in 1980. The unique machine was displayed for many years in his Rosso Bianco Museum before the entire collection was sold early in 2006. The current custodian, a great Maserati enthusiast, acquired the car at auction a few months later and quickly returned the car to full running order. As a former winner, it has a standing invitation for the Whitsun Trophy during the Goodwood Revival and since 2007, it has been regularly raced in the event.
