Chassis:
The first Aston Martin DBR2, this is the car that debuted at Le Mans in June of 1957. Its first success came early in 1958 when Stirling Moss won the Sussex Trophy at Goodwood. A week later Moss won again, at Oulton Park in the British Empire Trophy. It was then shipped to the United States where it was raced with a lot of success by George Constantine through to the end of 1959. Shortly after its return to Aston Martin in 1960, it was sold to Bill Aston. In later ownership, it was fitted with the gull-wing body that originally been mounted on an earlier DB3. Completely restored to its original guise, it was acquired by a prominent British collector, who sold the car in the late 2000s but has since bought it back.
