Chassis:
The very first Shadow DN6 built, this chassis was first raced by Jackie Oliver at Pocono in 1975, where he finished third. Oliver also raced the car at Mosport and Riverside it served as a spare at Road America and Long Beach. Shadow F1 racer Jean-Pierre Jarier drove DN6-1A at Watkins Glen. In 1976, it was only pressed into service once with Oliver finished second at Mid Ohio. Don Nichols retained the first DN6 until 1991. It the passed through a succession of American owners, and is today part of an impressive collection of Shadow racing cars. It was restored for historic racing ahead of the 2015 season and was raced with impressive results by the current custodian's son in law.
