Chassis:
The third and final Scarab Formula 1 car built, chassis 003 was never raced in period. In fact, it was not even fitted with an engine before the team ceased operations. In this state, it was displayed for many years in the Donington Grand Prix Collection museum. Following proprietor Tom Weathcroft's death in 2009, the rare Scarab was sold to its current owner. A keen historic racer, he had the car meticulously rebuilt and even commissioned the construction of a proper Offenhauser four-cylinder engine in the United States. Although it took some sorting, the third Scarab is now among the fast front-engined Grand Prix cars in the world, serving as a reminder of what could have been.
