Chassis:
This is the first of two 308Cs built by Hesketh and the only one raced by the team. James Hunt used the car in the final races of the 1975 season, finishing fifth at Monza and 4th at Watkins Glen. For 1976 it was developed into FW05/1. Ickx scored a 3rd in the Race of the Champions at Brands Hatch but that was a rare highlight. The car has since been returned to its Hesketh guise, although it still sports the less complicated coil-spring suspension. Owned by an American collector, it is seen here at the 2008 Monaco Historic Grand Prix and later in the year during the Monterey Historic Races.
