Following his graduation from the Carroll Shelby School of High Performance Driving, young enthusiast Dick Jordan from Chicago acquired this GT350 R complete with a spare rear end. Jordan used the car extensively in the Midwest, competing at local events will into the early 1970s. Following the Shelby Mustang's retirement from contemporary racing, it was placed into storage through to 1986. Even though the car was well raced, it had survived in remarkably original and unmolested condition. It was nevertheless restored by the subsequent, second owner. The work was completed in 1987 and the successive owners showed the car at various events throughout North America. Retaining all the major components including the wheels and plexiglass windows, this GT350 R had only covered 4,900 original miles in 2012, and all on racing tracks during its period career.
