Finished in Almond Green, this one of three DB3S customer cars sold to David McKay and Tony Gaze led Kangaroo Stable racing team. It was campaigned in period by the Australian team all over continental Europe, England and in New Zeeland with considerable success. In 1957, it was fitted with a perspex canopy and set a new Australian land speed record, averaging 143.19 mph on a dirt road. Chassis DB3S/102 was raced through to 1960 and was then comprehensively restored during the 1970s. It has since been regularly raced in historic by its successive owners. In 2020, it was consigned to the single collection Gooding Passion of a Lifetime sale. At that time, it was fitted with a twin-plug DB3 engine but was accompanied by the original DB3S straight six.
