Chassis:
The second M14A built, this example was entrusted to Denis Hulme for the 1970 season. His best result was a second place finish during the car's debut at the South African Grand Prix. While recovering from his crash during the Indy 500, chassis M14A/2 was raced by Peter Gethin at the Dutch Grand Prix. Gethin was back behind the wheel of this car at the start of the 1971 season. It was also raced by Jackie Oliver twice with a seventh in the Italian Grand Prix as his top achievement. At the end of the year, the car passed to Tony Dean. He bolted a Chevrolet V8 to the back of the tub and raced the car in F5000 events. Its subsequent owners continued to campaign the car through to the fall of 1978. It was then restored to DFV configuration by Phil Riley in San Francisco, California. It remained in the United States, when it was sold to historic racer Tony Smith through David Clark. The car briefly returned to Clark in 1998 but Smith bought the M14A back in 2000 and regularly raced it in historic events. In 2010, it was sold at auction and joined the ROFGO Collection. It has continued to be raced in select events since then.
