Chassis:
One of the final Duesenbergs built, this LaGrande Convertible Coupe was acquired new by American businesswoman Marjorie Merriweather Post. One of the wealthiest women in the world, she was also a famous socialite, philanthropist and collector of fine art. Setting this particular example apart from the other two LaGrande Convertible Coupes is the use of a very rare, factory fitted dual Winfield carburettor intake manifold. It also stands out as the only one of the three to retain its original open fender design. Merriweather Post retained the car until 1962, and it has since changed hands only very few times. The current, American owner has had it restored to its original colour and configuration.
