Completed late in 1953, this R-Type Continental made its public debut at the 1954 Brussels Motor Show. It was acquired new by a Mr Zurstrassen, who would own the car for seven years. Chassis BC39LC was then owned by an enthusiast from nearby Luxembourg, who would retain the car until the 1970s. Following a spell in Denmark, it joined the collection of an Italian fashion house founder. After a three-decade ownership, it was sold on through Kidston SA and completely restored by Clark and Carter. Following its comprehensive rebuilt, the Mulliner Fastback was shown at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where it won second in class.
