Chassis: 908-003
One of a pair of Porsche 908s entered for the 1968 Monza 1000 km, this car was driven by Jo Siffert and Hans Herrmann. They qualified a promising 2nd but eventually finished a delayed 19th, a full 27 laps behind the winning Ford GT40. Like all of the early long-tail 908s, chassis 908-003 was not raced again. Retained by Porsche, it has been on permanent display at the Porsche Museum, liveried like the 908 that came within a few metres of winning Le Mans in 1969.
