Chassis:
The first of two BT33s built before the 1970 season, chassis 1 was raced by Rolf Stommelen that season. After a major crash in the practice for the British Grand Prix, he switched to chassis 3. Fully repaired, the chassis repaired at the start of the 1971 season, first in the hands of Graham Hill and later driven by Tim Schenken. Stommelen's fifth at Spa in 1970 was the car's best result in a World Championship round. Chassis 1 was campaigned for several more seasons in South Africa where John Love scored two wins. Today the car is owned by American Historic racer Duncan Dayton. In recent years he scored wins in the 2006 and 2008 Monaco Historic Grands Prix.
