Chassis:
At the Osterreichring on August 14, Alan Jones scored Shadow's maiden Grand Prix victory, in the first outing of chassis DN8/4A. Later in the year, he would also place third in the Italian Grand Prix, piloting the fourth DN8. Jones then crashed the car heavily in the United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen. Not rebuilt in period, it has more recently been reconstructed and prepared for historic racing.
