Chassis:
Originally completed as a regular production road car, this F40 was acquired in 1991 by Roberto Angiolini. It was subsequently upgraded to GT specifications by Michelotto for use in the Italian GT Championship. Entered by Jolly Club, and liveried in striking Shell colours, it was raced by Marco Brand during the 1993 season. He absolutely dominated the championship, winning eight of the nine rounds Brand competed in. In 1994, it was fielded by Jolly Club again for several drivers, who all scored wins with this car. At the end of the season, it was sold to Japan where it was raced by Yasutsune Chiba's Taisan International racing team in at least five races between 1994 and 1995. It was then sold to another Japanese enthusiast, who owned through to the mid-2000s. Since it was retired from contemporary, the restrictors were removed, raising the power of the twin-turbo V8 to a staggering 760 bhp.
