Chassis:
Completed in September of 1987, this is one of the very first F40s completed. Retained by Ferrari, it was one of the development vehicles and was also used to develop the various competition versions by Michelotto. Ahead of the 1993 season, it was completed to F40 GT specification and sold to Luca Sartori. He raced the car in the 1993 and 1994 Italian GT Championship, winning the Monza and Mugello rounds in both years. It was later sold to an Italian enthusiast, who retained it until the early 2010s. Liveried in Totip colours, it was unsuccessfully offered at RM Auctions Monaco sale in 2012. It has since changed hands and has been comprehensively restored by DK Engineering.
