Chassis:
This is the unique Sport 1000 built by DeTomaso late in 1965 and early in 1966. Following its debut at the Turin Racing Car Show, it was completed at the factory but never raced. It was then retired to the DeTomaso where it remained until 2004, when the entire collection was auctioned off. It was acquired by a British collector, who in turn sold it on to a compatriot in 2007. Still in highly original condition, it was brought back to full running order in time for the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Fitted in 1966, it features one of only handful of survivors of the 15 BRM P80 engines built.
