Chassis:
Built for Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, this 212 Inter was one of an estimated 14 fitted with Pinin Farina's elegant Coupe body. Before being delivered to its prominent first owner, it was re-stamped 0139E, which was the chassis of the 212 Inter the Prince already owned and traded back in. This way he avoided paying custom duties. Finished in an understated black, the 212 Inter was regularly driven on the road by the Prince with his famous AA-13 registration. In 1955, the 212 Inter was traded in for a 250 Europa GT and re-stamped 0387GT again to dupe the customs officers. Before the end of the decade, the ex-Prince Bernhard Ferrari was sold to San Diego enthusiast Bob Stodwaldt. He cherished and preserved the car until the mid-2000s when it returned to The Netherlands. Still in highly original condition, it has since been shown at several major events on both sides of the Atlantic.
