Chassis:
The fifth of a total of eight cars built by McLaren during the 1989 season, this is understood to be one of the cars used by Alain Prost to clinch the World Championship. Retained by McLaren, it is today equipped with the only 1989-specification V10 owned by the British manufacturer. In 2015, it was pressed back into service to mark the return of the McLaren and Honda partnership at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The ex-Alain Prost car was driven on this occasion by talented McLaren junior Nyck de Vries.
