Chassis:
The very first McLaren Formula 1 car built, chassis M2B-1 served as the test and development car during much of the 1966 season. After the Serenissima engined M2B-2 was set aside, it was pressed into service for the final two, North American rounds of the 1966 World Championship. With Bruce McLaren himself behind the wheel, it finished fifth in the American Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, which would be the M2B's best ever result. Set aside after the 1966 season, it has more recently been acquired by an American McLaren collector. He had the car carefully restored to full running order by specialists Hall & Hall ahead of the 2015 Goodwood Revival where Bruce McLaren's career was celebrated.
