Chassis:
Earmarked for the 1991 All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, this was one of two 962Cs acquired new by Trust Racing. Chassis 962-166 was only used twice that year. On April 14, it finished fifth at Suzuka in the hands of George Fouché and Steven Andskär. The same pairing then raced the 962C to eighth at the Autopolis round at the end of October. Thereafter, Trust Racing stepped up to a more modern Toyota 92C and the Porsche was returned to Germany. It was overhauled and then eventually re-appeared in historic racing. Maintained by MecAuto, this highly original was regularly campaigned during the 2000s and 2010s at major events. In 2023, its Dutch owner consigned 962-166 to the Artcurial Retromobile sale.
