Chassis:
Built in the fall of 1986, this 962C was sold new to Trust Racing in Japan to replace its ageing 956. During the 1987 season, it was shared by Vern Schuppan and Keiichi Suzuki at various events on Suzuka and Fuji. They did particularly well at the latter, placing second twice and third once. For the 1988 season, it was rebuilt at Porsche and repainted in a new livery. It was raced only once in this guise with Keiichi Suzuki and Franz Konrad retiring from their race at Fuji. The car was returned to Porsche and eventually sold to Bernie Ecclestone in 1989. He would retain the car through to 2005, when it was acquired by Bruce Canepa. His company restored the car to full running order and prepared it for historic racing. Since 2007, it has been campaigned at select events by a Canadian historic racer.
