Although one of the lowest chassis numbers allocated to a Porsche 934, this is believed to actually be the 17th car built. It was delivered new to the great Belgian gentleman racer Jean Blaton, who raced under the pseudonym 'Beurlys'. Finished in Belgian racing yellow, it was re-painted with spray cans at the very last minute as Blaton managed to strike a sponsorship deal just before the 934's Le Mans debut. He raced the car together with Nick Faure and John Goss. They started well but a broken turbocharger ended their race early. The car then passed to Porsche specialist Jean-Pierre Gaban, who fielded the car at Le Mans the following year for Guillermo Ortega, Nicolas Koob and Willy Braillard. A head-gasket failure thwarted the car's second Le Mans appearance. It was then raced in local, Belgian events by Braillard, who won at Spa and Zolder early in 1978. The car's third appearance at Le Mans again ended early, this time with a broken fuel injection pump. At the end of the 1978 season, it was retired from contemporary racing. Fittingly, the car remained in Belgium for a vast majority of its life and changed owners only a handful of times. In recent years, this 934 was first painted yellow again but has more recently been restored to its 1976 Le Mans livery, although applied with a little more care than was done originally. Still fitted with its original gearbox, it was presented by Fiskens at the 2016 Retromobile show ready for historic racing.
