Chassis:
Initially intended to be used by privateers, the third and final BT33 was rushed into Works service after Stommelen's accident during the British Grand Prix. Stommelen drove the car to a commendable third in the Austrian Grand Prix. In 1971 Tim Schenken finally took over the helm of chassis 3; he had been in line to drive the car originally. He matched Stommelen's Austrian Grand Prix result a year later and in 1972 Brazilian Wilson Fittipaldi scored another at his home GP. Chassis 3 was subsequently used for hillclimbs in Great Britain. Beautifully restored, it is now regularly raced in Historic Events in North America.
