Chassis:
One of a pair of 1959 specification cars built late in 1959, this chassis featured a stressed skin centre section. It was raced by works driver Roy Salvadori in the 1960 season at a handful of events. He retired with the car from the International Trophy at Silverstone and only appeared with it in the practice of the Dutch Grand Prix. At the end of the year, it was sold on to Bib Stillwell in Australia, who scored one victory with the car. Shortly after, it was sold back to the United Kingdom where it joined the late Tom Wheatcroft's fantastic Donnington Grand Prix Collection. After the museum was closed, DBR4/3 was sold and subsequently demonstrated at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed where Aston Martin was the featured marque. Never used for historic racing, it is the most original of the three DBR4s that remain.
