Chassis:
The second works car built for the 1959 season, chassis DBR4/2 was raced by Carroll Shelby. He struggled all year only managed an eighth in Portugal and a tenth at Monza. At the end of the year, it is believed that DBR4/2 was recycled to become one of the DBR5s and ceased to exist. During the 1980s, former owner of DBR4/1 and great Aston Martin enthusiast Geoffrey Marsh decided to reconstruct DBR4/2 using a myriad of original spares he had gathered over the years. Among theses parts were an original 2.5-litre Formula 1 engine and a David Brown gearbox. The reconstructed car first fired up in July of 1982. It has since been raced in historic by its successive owners.
