Chassis: CB/4/53
Chassis CB/4/53 was extensively raced by first owner Bob Gerard throughout the 1953 season. Its engine was subsequently enlarged to 2170 cc and Gerard used it for several more seasons in Formula Libre events. Gerard eventually sold the car in 1956. The next owner fitted the Cooper chassis with a supercharged, 2-litre ERA engine for a brief use in hillclimbs. It was later rebuilt to proper Cooper Bristol Mk II specifications by Dick Crosthwaite. Today it is regularly raced in its original state. Chassis CB/4/53 is pictured at the 2006 and 2008 Monaco Grands Prix and the 2006 and 2007 editions of the Goodwood Revival meeting.
