Chassis:
A new car built ahead of the 1980 season, this car debuted during the Mugello 6 Hours in the hands of Riccardo Patrese and Eddie Cheever. Starting second, the talented pairing went on to win the race outright. It was then raced by the works team at Monza and Vallelunga, where it finished third overall at both occasions. At Vallelunga, this Beta Montecarlo also won the Group 5 class. Its final contemporary outing came at the 1981 Silverstone 6 Hours, where it was driven by Andrea de Cesaris and Piercarlo Ghinzani. Unfortunately, the race ended ended early for the Italian team due to an accident. Today, this Beta Montecarlo Turbo is owned by an Italian enthusiast, who has a full array of Martini liveried Lancias in his collection.
