Chassis:
Completed late in 1964, this 26R was sold new to American privateer racer Peter Pulver. He debuted the car in the Bahamas Speed Week. In three of his four outings, Pulver used 26-R-9 to clinch the class victory. Racing under the Duchess Auto banner, Pulver then raced the car at the 1965 Sebring 12 Hours together with Lance Pruyn and Newtwon Davis. Starting 46th, they eventually finished a disappointing 38th. With the hard-top roof, Pulver continued to race the Elan, scoring class victories at Nassau as late as December 1966. Restored to its Sebring 12 Hours configuration and livery, it is today owned and raced by a Monaco-based British historic racer.
