Ronnie Peterson debuted this Type 77 at the Brazilian Grand Prix. He retired early and this prompted the Swedish driver to jump ship and race a March for the rest of the season. It was then fielded for Bob Evans three times before being allocated to Gunnar Nilsson for the remainder of the season. He managed third place finishes in the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix. It was retired from contemporary racing at the end of the year. Sold on along in 1987 together with JPS14, chassis JPS12 has more recently been actively raced in historic events and is a regular in the Monaco Historic Grand Prix. (Source: Oldracingcars.com)
