Most likely the very first SC206 built ahead of the 1978 season, this is understood to be the car shown by Obermoser at the launch early in the year. While the car boasted the familiar Warsteiner colours at its debut, it never actually raced in this guise. Re-finished in a black Pirelli livery, it was raced by Obermoser at several events, most notably finishing second at Monza behind Reinhold Joest's turbocharged Porsche 908/03. At the end of the year, the team folded and the car was acquired by one of Obermoser's associates, Klaus Walz. Perhaps to avoid paying taxes, the car was renumbered 7901 from its original TOJ number, which was most likely 19-78. The renumbered car was then raced mostly in hill-climbs by German Rick Weiland. In 1984, it passed to Peter Kaus for display in his Rosso Bianco museum. He had the car restored to its original condition by former TOJ mechanics. Kaus retained the car until his entire collection was sold in early 2006. Later that year, this car was sold at auction. In more recent years, it has been restored to full running order by Brunn Racing.
