Chassis:
One of the BMW North America works cars, this 3.0 CSL was raced at the 1975 Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours. For the 1976 season, it was converted to Group 5 specification and ran at Le Mans where it finished 10th overall. Later in the year it also won the Kyalami 1000 km race. It was then sold to Vasek Polak, who repainted it in his familiar colours. In 1997, it was acquired from his estate by Rug Cunningham, and was then actively raced on both sides of the Atlantic in Polak's colours. Among its contemporary drivers were the likes of Hans Stuck, Same Posey, Ronnie Peterson and Brian Redman. Following an accident at a historic race meeting, it has been restored and finished in the colours used for its 1976 Le Mans entry.
