Jackie Stewart only used chassis MS80/1 three times early in 1969 (Race of the Champions, Spanish Grand Prix and British Grand) and he took victory at each occasion. In the remainder of the year, the first MS80 was driven by Jean-Pierre Beltoise. The young Frenchman scored many top-six finishes but in the end could do no better than the second place scored in his home Grand Prix at Clermond Ferrand. Matra has retained this highly successful chassis ever since and it accordingly it has survived in highly original condition. At a rare outing, MS80/1 is seen here at the 2006 Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris.
