Chassis:
Completed early in 1990 and fitted with from new with a three-litre engine, this 962C was sold to a German privateer racer. He entrusted the car to Obermaier Racing to run in select events through to 1993. Raced mainly in Interserie events, its finally contemporary outing came at the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans. Having lost the Primagaz sponsorship previously boasted by his car, the owner instead decided to adorn the 962C with the Le Mans logos. The event organisers were not amused and initially refused the car with this livery but eventually caved and allowed chassis 962-155 to take the start. Starting ninth, the Otto Altenbach, Jürgen Oppermann and Loris Kessel driven machine finished seventh overall, making it the first Porsche home.
