Halfway through the 1969 season, Jackie Stewart switched to the second MS80 constructed after Beltoise had just one outing with it (third in the Spanish Grand Prix). The Scot secured his maiden World Championship in MS80/2 by winning the Dutch, French and Italian Grand Prix. At the end of the season the car was disassembled and rather poorly stored. It was retrieved in the 1990s and rebuilt into a complete car. Jackie Stewart was reunited with his old car after 40 years during the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
