One of a pair of BMW V12 LMRs entered for the type's debut at the 1999 Sebring 12 Hours, this car was shared by JJ Lehto, Jorg Muller and Tom Kristensen. They had a perfect weekend as they managed to convert their pole position into a debut victory for the V12 LMR. The same pairing then raced the car at Le Mans but an accident ended their charge early. During the 2000 season, it was fielded in the American Le Mans Series, which also included two rounds in Europe. Victories were scored at the Charlotte and Silverstone races with JJ Lehto and Jorg Muller sharing the driving duties on both occasions. At the end of the season, the car was retired and joined the collection of BMW North America.
