Chassis:
For the final series of Magnum P.I., Tom Selleck was behind the wheel of a 308 GTSi qv. This chassis was one of an estimated five made available to the film crew by Ferrari North America. It is understood to have been used predominantly for the close-up and light action scenes, which explains why it has survived with relatively low mileage on the odometer. After it had served its filming duties, it was returned to Ferrari North America. Here it was repainted and readied to be sold to its first private owner. This was Ms Georgia Anne Walsh from Walnut Creek, California. She would own the car for just a few year as its next owner acquired the 308 in 1989. At the time, it had only covered 12,800 miles and during the following 27 years, he added a further 23,000 miles. Fully serviced in the spring of 2017, the ex-Magnum P.I. Ferrari was consigned to the Bonhams 2017 Scottsdale auction.
