Chassis:
The very last of the V12 engined Formula 1 cars of the second half of the 1960s built, this car debuted in the hands of Chris Amon at the 1969 Spanish Grand Prix. Amon set the second fastest time in qualifying and held a comfortable lead when he fell victim to his now infamous bad luck. A coolant line burst and shortly after the V12 engine expired. At the subsequent Dutch Grand Prix, Amon did reach the finish, placing third after starting fourth. The car's final contemporary outing was the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, where Pedro Rodriguez finished sixth. At some point after its brief contemporary racing career had ended, chassis 0019 joined the magnificent Ferrari collection of Pierre Bardinon where it remained for many years. Still in highly original condition, it was shown at the 2017 Retromobile show together with its sister and for a new custodian, it was returned to full running order by German specialists Methusalem. At the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed both 0017 and 0019 were demonstrated as part of the Formula 1 75th Anniversary celebrations.
