Chassis:
Built for the 1957 season, chassis VW7 was raced by all three works drivers Tony Brooks, Stewart Lewis-Evans and Stirling Moss. It was used for the better part of two seasons but due to mixed fortunes, a victory always eluded this car. Tom Wheatcroft later acquired the Vanwall assets when GKN bought out Vandervell Products. Chassis VW7 was later rebuilt by specialists Hall & Hall, using mostly original parts or else new parts constructed using the drawings also owned by Wheatcroft. The car was then part of Wheatcroft'sf Donington Grand Prix Collection for many years.
