Chassis:
One of two new cars built by Tyrrell in 1971 following the original 001 design, chassis / type number 003 was allocated to lead driver Jackie Stewart. He debuted the car with a victory in the Spanish Grand Prix and would go on to win five more races on the way to the second of his three Drivers' World Championships. Stewart raced the car again during much of the 1972 season, adding a further two victories to this car's tally. It was retired after the 1972 German Grand Prix where Stewart placed a lowly eleventh. Raced in period only by Jackie Stewart, this, the most successful of all Tyrrell Formula 1 cars, is today fittingly owned by the Stewart family. Usually on display in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, it made a rare appearance at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed where it was demonstrated by Paul Stewart and Damon Hill. It was back in action again the following year when Paul Stewart shared driving duties with Sir Jackie Stewart and Tom Kristensen.
