Chassis:
Completed early in 1961, this is the very first production Ghia L6.4. It was built to custom order and was then further modified by the George Barris. Among the special features are a bespoke gauge cluster, a factory installed air conditioning system and Cibie headlights. Barris customised more L6.4s, mostly for the members of the Rat Pack, and this example is believed to have originally been owned by British actor and Rat Pack member Peter Lawford. He reportedly owned the car through to 1963 and following a spell in David Lawrence's collection, it joined the stable of a famous Hollywood actor. A subsequent owner acquired the car in 2006 and it was later completely restored. Following the three-year process, it was shown with great success at several shows in Southern California. It was then consigned to the 2017 RM Sotheby's Monterey auction.
