Chassis:
Commissioned by American furrier Louis Ritter, this is the second Series 62 Cadillac clothed by Saoutchik. It features subtle difference from the first car, most notably the curves at the bottom of the fenders. In addition to the Cadillac, Ritter also acquired a Saoutchik Talbot Lago, both of which arrived on a New York dock in December of 1949. Both cars were then driven on the road to Beverly Hills in epic road trip. After Ritter enjoyed the two cars for a month or so, both were sold. The Cadillac joined the long-term ownership of Paul Kassoff and his initials are found on the radiator shell to this day. In the 1980s, it joined the sister car in the collection of Rick Carroll, who had it comprehensively restored. Since 1994, it changed hands only a few times and most recently was consigned to the December 2017 RM Sothbeby's New York Icons sale.
