Chassis:
Shown at the 1949 Paris Auto Salon, this is the first of the two Saoutchik bodied Cadillacs built. Although little is known about its early history, it has recently been confirmed by historian Peter M. Larsen that this was indeed the Paris show car. It was shipped to the United States and may have been owned at one point by actress Dolores del Rio. During the 1980s, it was part of the collection of Rick Carroll and between 1990 and 1992 was owned by Don Williams of the Blackhawk Collection. On behalf of the next owner, it was comprehensively restored by Mike Fennell during the early 1990s. It was then sparingly shown at select events before it was sold in 2002. The next owner showed the car at Pebble Beach twice and then consigned it to the 2016 Gooding Pebble Beach Auctions.
