Chassis:
This Delage D8 S was clothed by Fernandez & Darrin with a striking Cabriolet design that was used for at least one more D8 S chassis. It was sold through British Delage distributor Smith & Company to its first private owner. At this time it received the registration BLM 633 it still wears today. What happened next is unknown but it eventually was discovered by Tim Eaton in 1978. Eventually sold to the United States, it joined the collection of Noel Thompson in 1986. The car was shortly thereafter entrusted to Stonebarn Classic for a complete restoration. Its two-tone finish of black and red was replaced by an even more striking lilac paint scheme. The Fernandez & Darrin Cabriolet was then shown at the 1991 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it placed second in class. It was then shown at several other events before joining the Blackhawk Collection. The car sold at auction in 2015 and was restored once more for the new owner. Following the completion of the work, it was shown at Pebble Beach once more.
