Chassis:
Completed in early 1993, this was EB 110 served as a development prototype. It was initially fitted with rear wheel drive only and a GT specification engine. In this guise, it was used for fuel homologation testing before it was updated to full SS spec thanks to installation of a different engine. This was the very engine used a year earlier to set the EB 110's world speed record of 342.7 km/h. Among the other unique features found on this car are a revised gear-shifter and a carbon-fibre composite engine cover. The car was retained by the factory until it was sold by the administrators to Dutch collector Marin de Rijn. He owned the prototype EB 110s through to 2015, when it joined a British collection. Having covered just 3,00 km from new, it was consigned to the February 2018 RM Sotheby's sale in Paris.
