Chassis:
The second new GC289 built for the 1989 season, this car was retained by the Tiga works team. It had a troublesome debut at Suzuka where it suffered from electrical issues and also struggled at Le Mans where a driveshaft failure ended the charge early. There was more success later in the season when Jari Nurminen and Tony Trevor placed 13th overall and first in the C2 class at the Donington round of the World Championship. At the end of the year, it was sold to Andrew McAlpine, who raced the car in the 1990 BRDC C2 Championship along with Chris Hodgetts. They placed second twice and won outright at Oulton Park. The car was subsequently fielded in the Interserie by McNeil Engineering for James Taylor during the 1991 and 1992 seasons. The car's final contemporary outing came at the 1993 Interserie race at Donington with Andrew McAlpine and Mike Youles at the wheel. Since then, it has been restored to its 1989 Le Mans livery.
