One of just 86 examples built this Leichtbau 911 Turbo was sold new to Japan. It retained the factory air-conditioning and electric windows but did feature a full alloy roll cage built by Matter. Like the other lightweight Turbos, it featured a stripped down interior and revised suspension with the power-steering removed. It remained in Japan until 2015 when it was acquired by a prominent American Porsche collector. He then consigned the car to the 2018 RM Sotheby's Amelia Island auction along with a formidable selection of Porsches from his collection. At that time, the odometer read just 36,142km.
