Chassis:
Chassis 09-0001 was used throughout the 2009 season by the Gigawave team. It first appeared at the official pre-season FIA GT test at Paul Ricard where it successfully completed 119 laps over a two-day period. The GT-R's racing debut came at Silverstone. After qualifying 11th, it was forced to retire from 8th with rear suspension problems. The team skipped the second round of championship but came back for the event at the German Oschersleben track. Mistakes during the difficult weather conditions ended hopes for a good result. In the blue ribbon Spa 24 Hours race the GT1 Nissan ran as high as fourth overall during the night. Sadly drivetrain issues delayed the GT-R's charge more than 90 minutes. A third in class was some consolation for the effort. At the Zolder season finale the car was more competitive than ever before but now problems with the brakes dropped the Nissan down the order.
