Chassis:
The first production Lotus 17 built, this car was delivered new to its first owner Ian Walker in April of 1959. He would go on to race the car extensively during the 1959 season. During its well documented history, it was owned by a Mr Robert Matthews from 1967 through to 1998. One of around a dozen Type 17s to have survived, it has been regularly raced in historic events during the last couple of years.
