Chassis:
Acquired new by the works supported GS Tuning team, this 320 was entered in the 1978 Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM) in striking Fruit of the Loom colours. The car was assigned to recently signed BMW Junior driver Markus Höttinger, who was on loan to GS Tuning. It was a hugely successful season as young Höttinger won three of the eleven rounds, including the one on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The talented driver ended his DRM debut season fourth in the Division 2 standings. During the following season, the car was entered for Wolfgang Braun but with two fifths as his best placings, he was not nearly as successful. It was retired at the end of the year and sold to a private owner in 1980. With the exception of a spell in Switzerland during the 1990s, it has always been in German hands. During the mid-2010s, it was comprehensively restored with bills tallying up to EUR 300,000. Chassis 08 was then offered by Duncan Hamilton ROFGO late in 2017. The subsequent owner entrusted the car to WRC regular Kevin Abbring who drove the car with great verve at the 76th Goodwood Members' Meeting.
