Chassis:
Completed late in 1957 as chassis 3074, this 300S was sold new to a gentleman racer from Brazil. It was raced in South America until it was crashed and returned to the factory. It was rebuilt for the original owner and for reasons unknown re-numbered to '3035'. The repaired car was back in South America in 1959 where it was raced into the 1960s. At some point during the decade the car was re-bodied and then sold to Australia. It changed hands several times before it was comprehensively restored by specialists Auto Restorations in New Zeeland for owner Kerry Manolas in 1984. In 1994, the car was acquired by Dire Straits lead singer Mark Knopfler. He had the car restored again and regularly raced it during the late 1990s and early 2000s. During the mid 2010s, the car joined the stable of a Spanish historic racer. Prepared by Steve Hart, it was first raced by the new owner at the 2018 Espiritu de Montjuic.
